Ponownie wcielamy się w członka specjalnego oddziału, który musi stawić czoła inwazji kosmitów, w skład których wchodzą głównie dużych rozmiarów kreatury przypominające ziemskie robaki i pająki. Główna tematyka bardzo przypomina więc swój pierwowzór, gdzie również zmagaliśmy się z wielkimi poczwarami, które mogły nawet wspinać się na dachy najwyższych budynków. Do dyspozycji oddano nam ponad 150 rodzajów broni i cztery rodzaje pancerza, który możemy ulepszać. Wśród dostępnych trybów rozgrywki oprócz zwykłej kampanii znalazł się też Survival Mode.
