Gra Wings of Prey skupia się przede wszystkim na realistycznym oddaniu podniebnych bitew toczących się podczas najważniejszych wojskowych operacji II Wojny Światowej. Gracze mogą zasiąść za sterami najsłynniejszych myśliwców i bombowców z tego okresu, aby sprawdzić się w sześciu różnych kampaniach. W sumie produkcja składa się z 50 misji rozgrywających się w Zachodniej i Wschodniej Europie. Łącznie latamy w nich ponad 40 samolotami, wśród których pojawiają się takie klasyki jak: Spitfire, Mustang czy Messerschmitt.
