OPIS „Świat według Bundych” to serial komediowy, który w krzywym zwierciadle ukazuje życie jednej z chicagowskich rodzin. Głową rodziny Bundych jest Al (Ed O'Neill), sprzedawca butów, który ciężko pracując utrzymuje całą rodzinę. Jego żona Peggy (Katey Sagal) całymi dniami spędza czas przed telewizorem lub wydaje pensję Ala przeważnie w supermarketach. Córka Bundych, Kelly (Christina Applegate) nie grzeszy inteligencją, a syn Bud (David Faustino) zgrywa macho, jednak bez powodzenia. Bundy mają psa, Bucka, którym rzadko kto się interesuje. Ich sąsiadami są Marcy (Amanda Bearse) i Steve (David Garrison), a później drugi mąż Marcy, Jefferson D’Arcy (Ted McGinley).
